Hard to believe, but true: there are wheel designs that have shaped several generations and will somehow never go out of fashion. These unique rims naturally include the famous Crownjewel wheel, which is not only “Made in Germany”, but also boasts exceptional quality, such as a Radinox stainless steel outer bed, a reinforced Alunox inner bed and a reinforced center cover. Available in 20 and 21 inch sizes, the design is now available with a parts certificate for various Mercedes and Audi models.
Perfect dimensions: 10.5 & 12.0×21!
The company PP Exclusive sells the original Crownjewel wheel and fitted it to the two Mercedes vehicles presented here, among others. In the wheel arches of the white S-Class, an S500 by the way, the Crownjewel wheel spins at the front in the dimension 10.5 x 21 with a four-inch wide outer bed and Michelin tires in the format 265/30/21. On the rear axle, the Crownjewel wheel spins in 12.0 x 21, but here with a five-inch wide outer bed and tires in 305/25/21. Further modifications to the Stuttgart luxury saloon include a special stainless steel sports exhaust system with an extra sonorous sound and an electric lowering module which can be individually controlled using the buttons on the steering wheel.
325/25/21 rear tires!
The beautiful coupé, a CL500 from the 216 series, is also fitted with the 21-inch Crownjewel wheel, but here not with a polished star but in classic gray.
star, but in classic gray. In contrast to the S-Class, the rear axle of the CL500 is fitted with a massive rear tire from Continental in 325/25/21 format, although the rim dimensions are identical. To ensure that this wide rear tire could be fitted in accordance with TÜV regulations, the rear fenders had to be widened by 25 mm per side in sheet metal. As with the S-Class, the lowering of the CL chassis can be adjusted individually using the buttons on the steering wheel thanks to an in-house electronic lowering module.
